GEMINIS revolutionizes the machining of large parts with the ROTVI project, financed by the EU and the Basque Government.

The solution developed in the ROTVI project increases efficiency by eliminating chip accumulation on the cutting tool during machining.

This technology is the result of the developments and research that GEMINIS applies to the design of our lathes, with the aim of creating the easiest to clean lathes and the best solutions for the evacuation and management of chips and coolant.

State-of-the-art technology improves accuracy and productivity

The ROTVI project is an innovative technological solution that improves efficiency, precision and thus productivity during machining processes. It achieves this by generating a shorter chip that avoids chip evacuation jams, thus allowing the automation of the machining process.

At GEMINIS, we also believe that this optimized system results in lathes that are easier to clean, resulting in safer lathes. Among the elements of the evacuation and management system that we have been including in our lathes, the chip conveyor that evacuates the chips and transports them to a container or filtration system stands out.

Or in relation to the chip channelling process, our lathes are equipped with a bed and front and chuck protections to facilitate chip evacuation.

Our equipment is also fully protected: it is made of stainless steel and there is the possibility of an integral fairing that provides greater watertightness and safety.

Another case of public-private collaboration

This ROTVI project is an innovative GEMINIS solution financed by the Basque Government and the European Union through the Hazitek program and co-financed by the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF).

This is not the first case of GEMINIS collaboration with public institutions. Discover the case of the GR3-W HP project, for the development of a cutting-edge boring machine in the railroad sector.
